PROTECT CHILDREN

Our Purpose

Every child has the right to healthy food and to feel safe, with their basic human needs protected.

Using the reach of the FIFA World Cup™, FIFA is working with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to raise awareness of the importance of children having access to food as a basic resource for human life.

Alongside FIFA safeguarding programmes including The Guardians Programme, Protect Children, End Hunger is a rallying cry to the football community to protect every child in every situation.

Millions of children around the world are involved in football. What these children all have in common is the right to enjoy football in a safe environment, in a culture of respect and understanding.

WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME

End Hunger: #ShareTheMeal

2022 has been a year of unprecedented hunger with the number of those facing acute food shortages since 2019 rising from 135 million to 345 million people, many of them children.

Using its biggest tournament of 2022, FIFA is supporting the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to raise awareness of the global food crisis.

WFP provides school meals to 15.5 million children worldwide, improving both their nutrition and their access to a potentially life-changing education. But many children are still going to bed hungry.

FIFA is calling on the billions of fans, players and officials who follow the 2022 FIFA World Cup to help avert this global hunger catastrophe.
